Is it necessary to have EJBs deployed in EJBServer(JBoss) to be present in the client side

In the above example for Tomcat to compile firstEJB.jsp(client) page we need to copy the ejb (FirstEJB.jar) deployed in JBoss to the clientapplication(C:\Projects\EJB\FirstEJB) folder.
Does this mean that the EJBs deployed in any EJBServer(JBoss) should always be present in the client side ?(for compilation of client application)
